There comes a time in your life that all you can think about is the future... For the past few months i have been asking my self a few questions...
1. what does the future hold?
2. what do i want to do with myself ?
3. do i want to be a mediocre or do i want to be a legend?
I find myself asking over and over and the more I drift in my thoughts the more I get confused about somethings in my life and some things i am not doing. In life it is very easy to say ' i'll take it as it comes' but yet we all want to live extraordinary lives.
4. What am I doing to ensure that all i dream about comes to pass
Do not get me wrong, God is the biggest factor in our lives but still we can't expect everything to be handed to us on a platter of gold. we have to work and pray that all our hard work pays off. Let me drift off topic a little. Today as my classmates and I waited for our Urology class to begin we engaged in a conversation that we still couldn't conclude on and i am going to let you guys in on this so you can share on personal opinion on the topics.
1. inter tribal marriages
2. how long should you know a person before you get married to them
3. should your parents be able to decide who you spend the rest of your life with.
* subject matter 1 and 3 are kind of interrelated .
I personally feel that, first of, there is nothing wrong in mixing it up. if everybody got married to people only from their cities or states or even countries. diversity among people would not be what it is right now. Lets take Nigeria for instance, a lot of parents in Nigeria feel that their children should only marry people from their tribe, some of them insist and even threaten to cut their children off. how backward right? I agree everyone has their preference but would it not be better if it was the child's preference and not the parent's? Yes! we all need our parents to fall in love with our spouses or partners just like we did but what happens if they don't? Do you quit your relationship and move on to the next one? some people would, and i don't judge them for that decision because at the end of the day it is their life right?
Secondly, i feel one year is to short a period for you to know someone enough to choose to spend your life with them... i mean it takes longer than a year for you to fully know someone. Now, I am not saying you have to date for 10 years before getting hitched but what's the rush. if you are going to spend the rest of your life with someone why not invest time in getting to know them first. i think its logical. My classmates had a different opinion, they felt that 3 months to a year was enough time because if it is not meant to be God will show it to you and all you need is to be spiritually inclined. I don't completely disagree as i said earlier. God is a huge factor in our lives but will God tell you oh!this person you have picked after 10 years of marriage is going to cheat on you. NO!!!! BUT do you know if you spend enough time getting to know someone you can speculate what they are capable of doing.
Not to drag this too long, i know you are probably tired of reading. LOL!!! please comment and let me know what your opinion is.
Back to my initial reason for writing this. i think it is very important that we not only know what we want in life but also hustle hard to get it. Nobody is going to hand you a plate of success. you have to prepare and serve yourself.
PLEASE COMMENT BELOW!!! IT WOULD MEAN THE WORLD TO ME TO GET FEED YOUR FEEDBACK.
